On October 20, 2026, China announced the establishment of National Data Group Co, a state-owned enterprise dedicated to developing and exploiting national data resources, headquartered in the Xiong’an New Area, Hebei Province.
According to Xinhua News Agency, the enterprise is tasked with exploiting data resources, promoting the value of data factors, supporting AI development, and building a national data industrial ecosystem.
Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang attended the launch ceremony, affirming that this is an important strategic decision by China’s leadership to create national competitive advantages in the AI field.
