• Nvidia Israel has announced new Spectrum-XGS technology, which allows data centers in geographically distant locations to be connected as if they were operating in the same area.
  • This technology creates giga-scale “AI factories” that function as giant supercomputers, overcoming the current limitations of individual data centers.
  • Nvidia’s R&D center in Israel (established after the acquisition of Mellanox) is the primary developer of communication solutions for AI chips.
  • Nvidia’s two main communication products currently focus on ultra-fast connections between chips within the same server and between servers within a data center.
  • However, Spectrum-XGS extends this capability globally: eliminating long-distance latency and enabling data centers thousands of kilometers apart to operate synchronously.
  • Jensen Huang, Nvidia’s CEO, stated: “The AI industrial revolution has arrived. Giga-scale AI factories are the essential infrastructure.”
  • Spectrum-XGS uses advanced algorithms: automatic latency adjustment by distance, congestion control, and precise end-to-end performance measurement.
  • This technology helps nearly double the performance of the NVIDIA collective communications library, supporting the optimization of data transmission between multiple GPUs and nodes in a distributed AI cluster.
  • The new technology is expected to be integrated into Nvidia’s development roadmap with four main product lines: AI processors, CPUs, and two types of communication chips—three of which are managed by the team in Yokneam.
  • Nvidia is also building a technology super campus in Northern Israel, spanning 70-120 dunams (7-12 hectares), to be completed in the next 5-6 years, becoming the largest private sector workplace in Israel.
  • The total investment amounts to billions of USD, reinforcing Israel’s strategic role in Nvidia’s global R&D network.

📌 Nvidia Israel is leading a new wave of the AI industry with its Spectrum-XGS technology, which helps connect global data centers into a unified AI system that operates as a single AI super-factory. This solution nearly doubles the performance of the NVIDIA collective communications library and is expected to play a core role in three of Nvidia’s four main product lines. With a multi-billion dollar campus project spanning 7 to 12 hectares to be completed in the next 5-6 years, it will become the largest private sector workplace in Israel
