• During its 2025 Annual General Meeting, Chairman Mukesh Ambani announced that Reliance is officially entering the AI sector with the establishment of a brand-new subsidiary: Reliance Intelligence.
  • The goal of Reliance Intelligence is to transform Reliance into a deep-tech company, with four main objectives:
    1. Build next-generation AI infrastructure for India, starting with AI-ready data centers in Jamnagar.
    2. Collaborate with global tech corporations and the open-source community.
    3. Democratize AI services for large, medium, and small enterprises, as well as the government.
    4. Nurture and develop domestic AI talent.
  • Reliance announced two major alliances:
    • joint venture with Google to leverage its cloud computing and AI technology. The two parties are building a “Jamnagar Cloud region” dedicated to Reliance.
    • joint venture with Meta, with an initial investment of $100 million to bring Meta’s open-source AI models (like Llama) into practical application in India.
  • Sundar Pichai (CEO of Google) and Mark Zuckerberg (CEO of Meta) both appeared via video, emphasizing the strategic partnership and the potential of AI to comprehensively transform India’s economy and businesses.
  • Reliance affirmed it will bring AI to every Indian citizen, similar to how Jio made the internet widely accessible.
  • Besides AI, Ambani also announced plans for a Jio IPO before 2026, growth in the retail segment, and an investment of ₹75,000 crore (≈ $9 billion) in clean energy within its O2C (oil-to-chemicals) business.
  • Despite the US imposing a 50% tariff on Indian goods, Google and Meta continue to strengthen their relationship with Reliance, having previously invested $4.5 billion (Google) and $5.7 billion (Meta) respectively in Jio since 2020.
