Saudi Arabia is rolling out the Nama’ Incentives program and the AI Incentives for Cultural Projects initiative to promote generative AI in the cultural sector.

Eligible micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises can receive up to 500,000 SAR, equivalent to about $133,000, to apply or develop AI solutions.

The program is implemented in conjunction with the Quality of Life Program, the Ministry of Culture, and the Saudi Data and AI Authority.

The goal is to develop creative cultural products and services, enhance competitiveness, and create sustainable economic and social value.

The initiative focuses on six areas: creativity, heritage preservation, content development, cultural experiences, project management and governance, and intellectual property.

The program aims to drive digital transformation across the entire cultural value chain through AI.

The announcement timing coincides with the “Year of AI” and follows an agreement to promote advanced technologies among relevant agencies.

The CEO of the Cultural Development Fund noted that AI expands opportunities for investment, entrepreneurship, and increases culture’s contribution to the creative economy under Vision 2030.

The head of the Quality of Life Program believes that AI helps businesses create new cultural products, services, and experiences while increasing the global presence of national cultural content.

The Cultural Development Fund affirmed that Nama’ supports sustainable growth, enhances economic and social impact, and realizes the National Culture Strategy alongside Vision 2030.
