Marcos stated that AI must serve the people, improve public service efficiency, and expand technology access opportunities for many social groups.
A 2024 study showed that only 14.9% of Philippine businesses use AI tools, mainly large enterprises, tech companies, and urban-concentrated businesses.
DICT developed the “Kuya A” assistant, providing real-time guidance for users to find and use online government services.
eGov AI is free for verified eGovPH users, supporting document extraction, image recognition, translation, form comprehension, and voice generation.
The platform also provides tourism information, laws, policies, guidelines, and real-time translation features to reduce language barriers.
eKYC technology along with advanced liveness checks are integrated for more effective identity verification, while combating fraud and unauthorized access.
Marcos emphasized that AI must be based on responsibility, security, and ethics, while supplementing rather than replacing human judgment.
